One of my girlfriend's friend had her boyfriend blow his head off and I was the lucky one to get the job of cleanup. Even if there are companies that do this type of work I still would have ended up doing it since this girl has no money whatsoever.

So how the hell did you ever let yourself get suckered into doing that job? Yuck.

That sounds like a good time to find a new GF...

20,000 people is friggin huge! That's 10 times the size of the meduim-large town I grew up in. Small town is <=500.

nah man, 20k is not that huge. imo a small town is under 10k. I used to live in a sub-6k town.

A guy from my church killed himself in his home, and some of the men from my chirhc cleaned it up. NO contrators just regular people. It really affected some of them.

A lot of times you NEED specialists to clean things up because blood doesn't come out of most materials without specialized chemicals.

I had to laugh at a roadside billboard advertising such services near me that was up for a whole week before nobody knew what happened to it. It's funny because it's one of the oddest things you'd see advertised in that fashion and because I don't see who could really lodge a valid enough complaint to get it removed.

Small town (20,000). Sometimes people have a big heart in small towns. He knew that they just lost a best friend and wanted to help. Over the years the extra business they gave him has made up for it I guess.

Medium-large = 2,000?

I think of my city as medium-large; its population is around 380,000. (Fifty-something square miles, IIRC.)

Truly large to me is anything approaching 1,000,000 or more, like NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, etc.

I guess it's all relative.

I heard a story about a Chemistry Prof who was depressed, etc, and bit down on a gun. The horror story goes that after all was said and done it fell upon some of the guys grad students to clean up the office and un-messify the notebooks and theses (on a bookshelf directly behind the prof.'s desk) they needed to finish their work/move on.

This is gonna sound extremely cold-hearted but if you ever plan to kill yourself then step out in your backyard and blow your brains out there. This way the mess can be cleaned up with a hose. It's not fair to leave that mess for family members to deal with but suicides tend to be a very selfish crime.

:disgust:
