If you kill yourself in messy fashion....

I was listening to some AIC the other day and a verse in one of their songs got me pondering this. If, for example, some teenage looser blows his brains out in his parents home do his parents really have to clean it up? That seems like the height of effed up. So, anyone know?

there are companies that specificalyl clean these things up.(crime scene cleaner uppers) not parents. costly, but very good.

damit you got to it before me.

When the guy that lived below me blew his head off a contractor came in and cleaned out/ozoned the place.

"Do you see a sign in front of my house that says "Dead N*gger Storage"?

I was actually thinking about them scrubbing down the back of that car while I was posting this.

My in-laws have a store. One employee (a co-founder of the store) was depressed and shot himself in the head (and died) in the store. The store owners (in-laws) were responsible to clean it up. They called a local carpet cleaner and asked if he would do a gory job. He came over immediately, cleaned up everything - the floor, walls, etc. He never charged a dime.

I've heard that some people charge thousands of dollars for that same service in larger cities. Trust me, that carpet cleaner has gotten hundreds of recomendations from my in-laws. And they have been using him for years to clean the store and the house ever since.

I've always wanted to know who's carpet was cleaned next with that equipment.

Small town (20,000). Sometimes people have a big heart in small towns. He knew that they just lost a best friend and wanted to help. Over the years the extra business they gave him has made up for it I guess.

Wow nice guy. We charged megabucks for suicide/murder damages. Usually paid by insurance.

There are special companies that do that sort of thing. One big reason is because of the biohazard waste which must be disposed of properly and special chemicals and equipment.

Yeah, in some places it is actually illegal to do the cleanup yourself and you must contract the job out to licensed biohazard cleanup places.

How messed up is that? For example, you own a small apartment complex and some druggie tenant gets shot and killed in a fight in your apartment complex and you gotta pay extra to have it cleaned up because he mighta had AIDS or whatever.

Some kid at my school shot himself Hemingway-style with a shotgun from Walmart. From what I hear the "cleaners" were there for several hours.

He definitely got his money's worth.

One of my girlfriend's friend had her boyfriend blow his head off and I was the lucky one to get the job of cleanup. Even if there are companies that do this type of work I still would have ended up doing it since this girl has no money whatsoever.

20,000 people is friggin huge! That's 10 times the size of the meduim-large town I grew up in. Small town is <=500.
