If you install 360 game to HD, does it always use that?

It will play from the HD if that was last selected.

Keep in mind the DVD still has to be in the system.

Thanks. I tend to just turn the 360 on with the disc in and watch TV for a while. Don't feel like going back to dashboard, selecting "play from HD", etc.

Yeah it always plays from system. Also remember that some games actually (seem to) suffer from it.

Which ones? The only one I've heard of suffering was Halo 3.

Yep, but if you move the HD to another console even if the other console is on live it wont play from the HD. Only from the original console.

NCAA Football 2009 seems to suffer as well, though you don't have to worry about your game dropping out due to "can't read disc. please clean it" error.

Why didn't you just try it and see what happens?

....because you can't tell? 😕

The DVD in the X360 is so loud you'd easily tell the difference... Having said that I really don't know 😛 I turned off autoplay and am always using "Play from HD" when playing (though last time I did play was like 1.5 months ago 😛). Easiest would be to just try it yourself 🙂 I remember Fable2 was reading the disc like crazy before NXE was available. The difference now is night and day.

I felt that Fallout 3 suffered.

Um... no, at least not for me. All of my loading times decreased and the random hanging while going from building to outdoors was eliminated.

Fallout 3 is one of the games it seems to help load time the most, at least from my experience.
