If you host a dedicated Half-Life TFC server, how do you Lan into it?

I currently have two public IP's. I know that I have a LAN connection to it, b/c of the low ping that I receive. I'm guessing that after my client authenticates with WON, it somehow see's the traffic to that IP it's attemtping to connect to, local on my Hub. In turn, rather than going out to the web to connect, it simly takes a hop across to that port and connects. Right? Would it be possible to connect via LAN strickly? As in, when I go to refresh my server list under LAN, that game should show up as long as I assign an IP that coorelates to that of my LAN. As in, put my client on the lan and give it the next ip, 10.0.0.4 (got 3 other machines). With that setting would it be able to connect via LAN rather than going out and authenticating with won even though the server is hosting over IP?

Refreshing the lan that way *should* work. At work, we just connect to the server over the net, the ping is very low, so its all good
