If you have an eVGA 7800GTX, are you going to step up?

See topic. I have a 7800GTX that was purchased in late August, and I'm seriously considering stepping up. I think I will if core/mem clocks are higher and price is < $100.

Why? Seems silly to waste on the same series since you can only do it once per full purchase card.

lol i kno right....I would step up. Or maybe sell my gtx and go for the x1800xt once released. It all depends if the performance of the x1800xt lies in the 512mb of ram. Who knows wait for reviews on both.

Probably not, since they charge retail prices for the step-up, and I imagine for the 512mb card, it will be a steep price. the difference in frames probably won't be worth it. but either way, a review would help.

Not F.E.A.R 🙂

512 will be twice the price of the GTX? I highly doubt it considering most sources say it will be priced competitively to the X1800XT (which isn't twice the price of the GTX).

So you're familiar with the step-up program? I don't think I have the clear plastic that held my graphics card in place, but I still have the original box. I guess this means I'll get tacked with a 15% fee if/when I step-up?

Wait... does the step-up program work for as long as you want to, or only within 90 days? If it's as long as you want, I'm gonna wait for the 8800, if not, I think I might as well take advantage of it and step-up from my GTX...
