...to change your texture( only texture ) to Medium instead of High.

With the texture at medium, extremely less chopping,skipping.I set, one by one, the other options down and the only thing i can notice is a little better framerate with some options off..but it was not helping to fix the skipping problems.

My machine is a 3200 A64,Geforce 6800gt 256m, 1g of ram kingston.I am able to play with 2x AA and 2x AF at very good framerate (40-60fps).Yeah i can increase my AF to 4x, but i lose a bit of frame rate in some stages, so i rather keep 2x.

Discuss.Cause i really thing the standard now for that game would be 2g of ram if you want to run it smoooothly.

I have the exact same rig as you, (A64 3200+, 6800 GT, 1g RAM) and I run the game at 1024x768 w/ all setting on Ultra High and 4xAA and 8xAF. According to the Fraps benchmarking utility, the game averages 42.552 fps (this was the average when playing on a 32 person Strike at Karkand server for 20 minutes). Not the best, but it is good enough for me, I just like the eye candy. There is hardly any choppiness, it runs nice and smooth, the only stutters coming in the first 5-10 seconds of joining a game.

It ran fine with 1gb @ medium detail, 1600x1200, no FSAA, 16x AF, with my system.

A64 3000+, SB AUdigy 2ZS, 6800GT, 1gb corsair xms pc3200.

I went to 2gb about a week ago and load times improved a good deal, i also switched to high detail on everything.

I have 1GB and I've been running on High at 1280x1024 with no problems. It does get a little choppy when things are crazy intense, but 90% of the time it's perfect

64 player servers on certain maps exceed 1GB of memory at max settings.

I have a huge thread on this and im adding data to it today actually.

Bumoped up to 1.5 GB to rid myself of pagefile access probs. Runs fantastic now... well besied the other well documented minor DICE issues.

You didn't mention what resolution you were running at, but with your hardware you should be able to push it a little further without noticable drops in framerate.

AXP 2500+
1GB of ram
9800 Pro

1600x1200 medium details on everything. No AA or AF.

Runs fine. Only time I notice a drop in frame rates is when smoke is on the screen.

A64 3000+
1gig ram
9800pro -> XT

I play 1280x960 on high w/ 4x AF. Is it just me, or are the ati users getting shafted on vid options? There isn't an option for AA for me... Do I have to force it in the control panel?

I have options for None, 2X, 4X, and 6X.

Options --> video --> It's a drop down box about half way down the menu :)

hey JAAG - how do you find general fps with that setup? I'm getting about 20-30fps and it's not completely smooth (hitching is common) but playable.

The graphics are amazing on 16x12!

My setup:
XP2500+ -> 210FSB x 9.5 = 2.0GHz
1GB of Geil RAM
9800 Pro (stock)

I normally hover around 40-45.

Turning off the dynamic lights and shadows really helped.

Hmm that's quite a bit higher than mine - I'll try turning off those to see if it helps, thanks
