visit a real car forum like nasioc.com or hondaaccordforum.com (just 2 examples) and you'll get some real help with "the garage"

go there and ask for computer help on overclocking and i bet you'd get shitted on, just like anyone here asking about aftermarket exhausts, intakes, coilovers, projectors, HIDs.

in AT's garage, theres seems to be much skewness towards domestics. Only here do we see more Focus/cobalt recommendations than a Civic when it is clear that the civic completely DOMINATES time and time again the compact car market. The same goes with the Malibu/Fusion (okay its a bit smaller big deal) when the Accord and Camry are clearly the winner for the past 8-10 years.

that may be part of it, but why do they complain about "boring-ness"? i'm 95% sure that their parents want something reliable and will last them as long as possible, if not, then something that will hold its value over time.

NASOIC is chock full of elitist assholes like every car forum, AT while not a car forum specifically isn't any different. You'll see the same flame wars there that you see here, but they keep it "in the family" so to speak.

Talk about retrofitting HID's in there and you'll be flamed into oblivion just like anywhere else.

The Civic gets nods in resale value and maybe a slight edge in interior quality but that's about it. in terms of pure performance/buck no Civic in ANY trim comes close to the Cobolt SS, that's the fact. I don't begrudge Japanese manufacturers though, the quality of their cars set the standard and forced GM, Ford to finally come to the table with decent offerings..
