So the lack of an actual answer does show that you're conceding the points of iTunes lacking in functionality over foobar. Do you have any arguments to use rather than making a weak defensive answer?

Does iTunes also support Flac,or read cue, or support pausing music when going to lock screen, support for different decoding add ons, or perhaps even create cue sheets if you feel the need, or have the ability to be controlled by over a dozen remote control methods?

These things are supported if you want add components or scripts.

My point was not a "defensive answer". My point is that no one uses your obscure file formats, CUE files, even FLAC files. If you really wanted them to work in iTunes, most of which you probably can with add-ons.

Personally, I have all my music separated into folders by artist/album, then just plug in my android phone, turn on USB storage and use explorer to move the files over and use WinAMP for Android to play them. Doesn't get much easier than that....

The problem is that you started arguing that it was great for power users, then when confronted by an ACTUAL power user, you get all defensive and start name-calling.

1) It takes much more work every time you want to change what goes onto your Android

2) You can't do anything to those music files and have the same functionality reflected on your music device

3) Your Android device doesn't even have an equalizer, so this whole thread about the power of iTunes is probably inapplicable to your usage.

You didn't answer the first part about power users. What it the point of this thread? Are you trying to show that iTunes is for power users which clearly it is not because it is vastly lacking in functionality over foobar which real "power users" would use in the first place. or are you saying it is better for the layman, because for the layman 99% of features don't matter when all they want to do is play music. And if you have an iPod, you most likely have itunes anyway so the point of the thread is moot.

Saying that no one uses said file formats is an extremely defensive answer as it doesn't refute a point, only attempt to weaken the position of the point.

1. The only work is choosing what files you want. Dragging and dropping is all that is needed

2. What.

3. What is this I see? Is this an equalizer I see here?

If you think he's a power user for using useless file formats (let's face it, you are clearly not purchasing your music)....

I would refer you to post #1 regarding the point of the thread: "How to use Itunes" :(

If you can not comprehend how the point of obscure file formats completely destroys any argument you had for the viability of Foobar over any other media player for that matter - there is no point in continuing this discussion. I recommend a Lawyer if you ever need to argue before a Judge.

Ahem...

The power user potential of iTunes eclipses those of other music players and organizers to such a degree, it is incredible.

Which is it? Good for Power users or not?

If so, then professional sound recorders who use FLAC (among others) on an everyday basis should be able to use iTunes as well...

You only started this thread because you got butthurt in the other one. Who cares, even Apple users acknowledge iTunes sucks but they have to put up with it because you're stuck using it.

Ah, the Ad Hominem begins but you don't back up the ad Hominem with reasons as to why my arguments are bad, even though I have clearly stated why your answers are defensive in nature, such as this post right now.

You are fixated on the obscure files point, (Which coincidentally are formats from game consoles that you can rip if you want to listen to and is in no way indicative of my music purchasing habits), but then you concede the other 50 million things that functionally foobar can be made to do quite easily. Such as different ways or remotely controlling it, or perhaps even MSN or Miranda integration if you feel the need for it, or the other functions that my posts beforehand showed but you chose to ignore because iTunes has no such feature.

As for the reason for the thread, there is none. You showed basic features that any media player can do and somehow made itunes the shining star of media players even though there is no reason that it is. You wrote out "instructions" on how to use iTunes even though a tech forum is the last place such a thing is needed. So tell me, what was the point of the thread?

This is going in circles and was largely covered in the other thread such that this comes off as a repost, although the movie might deserve it's own thread... but still this discussion is similar to the other thread, I'm going to lock. Zen0, thanks for making the movie.
