besides, what's the point of tarting up a basic car? it defeats the purpose of basic. i wouldn't consider any car at any price that didn't incude things that were extravagances a couple years ago, i.e. power everything, 4 wheel discs with ABS, A/C, et cetera.

but for the case of altima/maxima, the difference isn't much... maybe the maxima has slightly better interior and that would be all.

actually for the years 2002-2003, the altima had a more advanced platform than the maxima.

Which is why I paid $5k under msrp for my 2003 Maxima when I bought it new. ;)
