asus ati eax1600 pro pci-e 256mb

ati saph x800gto pci-e 256mb

nvidia 7600gs pci-e 256mb

if only one of these 3, and no others, which would you pick?

a flashed x800gto to x800 or x850 if it can will be much faster than any of those cards, but it won't have sm3 and hdr

7600gs, but it would be a lot better to fork over a little extra for the 7600gt.

the x1600pro is pretty crappy. Usually a 6600gt outperforms it.

The x800gto will lose to a 7600gs, and will get owned by a 7600gt...plus its just older hardware with older features.

So go with the 7600gs, gt if possible.

Are their any guarantees that the GTO will mod? Or is it a crapshoot?

Basically a crapshoot, although if it doesnt mod, I'm pretty sure you'll still get some good OCs

And basically, the GTO's start @ ~$100, but the X850XT's start at ~$135 AR, so why you would bother with the GTO is a mystery to me. This isn't even touching the used market, which is quite good for the X800 series parts and none-existant for the newer hardware.
