If you had the flu....

I went the next day and got a prescription for tamiflu. That seemed to shorten the duration of the illness and worth the visit and hassles. I'm still coughing up chunks but all the other symptoms are gone.

Rapid flu test is a nasal swab, no blood draw needed. If it comes back positive for type A they will send it out for a definitive test. (I did this Friday.)

Never. If I've got it, I will be fine if I take care of myself, and if it gets bad enough I will get it checked. No point in spreading it around.

I have a working immune system, so I wouldn't go, unless it got to a point where my body was constantly vacuating fluids out of every orifice

My immune system is chock full of Fedor-white blood cells.

My GF's, however, are not 🙁

I think it has more to do with the severity and duration of her fever than the flu. Call the advice nurse.

usually i don't but i was missing work and i have no vacation or sick days. i have no health insurance either but it only cost me 52.00 to see him and he gave me free sample instead of writing a prescription. although i did call 3 days later complaining about my cough and he prescribed me some cough medicine that was $10.

Maybe a week or so under normal circumstances, though with the swine flu outbreak I'd probably give it like 3 days then see a doc just to be extra safe that it's not killing me or something. I'd probably call in sick as well just so I don't spread it.
