My dad has opened 2 (in the midst of the 3rd) Lenny's Sub Shop's here in TN, and it was actually the cheapest of the food franchises he looked into locally (even more so than Subway). Even that ended up being around $100k a store for startup, which included the lease, construction, furniture, food, etc. The franchise fee is lower than others, at only 6%. The cost is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than McD's, which is over $1 million!
Honestly unless you want to invest a LOT of effort , a LOT of hours, and a decent amount of headache, you might want to stay away from the food franchise world.
