eVGA 7600GT $89.99 After Rebate

Total: $289.66 Plus Shipping/Tax

EDIT: There is a $5 coupon for eWiz.com. Updated the total. PM me for the code.

oh wow....hrm...

This looks like a very good build, but FYI, the linked proc is not an X2, rather a single core Athlon 64. Unless I'm missing something.

you're right, thats a single core 3800

heres what it'd cost to have a 3800 x2 system
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103733

now I'd definitely say go for my 939. Yes, the AM2 would be more future proof, but i doubt this build will be stringed out for too long on a $300 budget

No, actually it costs $94.

That link isnt working. Will the CPU work on a 939 mobo? Also, I'm a little leary to get a dual core CPU because of some of the issues with older games.

Indeed, not only isn't the link working, but the price was raised on some items as well.

You snooze, you lose.

EDIT: Looks like they just changed up the URL; the item is still there.

Ok, going to pull the trigger today -anyone want to update or make any suggestions? I mean, these are looking good...

Actually, going to go with the 939 setup I think. Anyone got a suggestion for that one? I don't even know what the right connectors are for either one is. 😛
