If you had 300-400k to invest, where would it go??

buy a house, maybe a car also, invest half the rest in stocks, and the rest into something secure, probably a bank.

Open up a state of the art Dunkin Donuts.

Remember when coffee beans went up in price so much and Dunkin Donuts raised the prices of all their coffess with lots of fanfare.. Then, remember when the price of coffee beans went down so much..

Did the price of a small hazelnut with one sugar and cream come back down ...??

NO. lol
Money in the Bank. (Until the FDA comes out with a warnin sayin that coffee causes anal leakage or somethin).. lol

I'd either do factoring or start leveraging that to buy small businesses or real estate. You can do a lot with 400k...

I would give it to my company with the stipulation that it be used to hire more sales folks to help us handle the sheer (sp?) volume of quotes that we get every day. 🙂

40% Some rental properties in "upper lower class" areas
40% A business
10% Something liquid, e.g. mutual fund, stocks (gambling!)
10% Donate to charity

25-50k Iraqi currency
5k-10k New Webhosting Business
5k for current business
~30k for a car

Rest would go into paying off my parents' home, what is left over goes for college for my brother and I

Buy a house and leverage it for more houses in university areas. Finish the basements off, and make it so there are 6 rooms, 3 per floor (on a raised bungalow at least). Rent out 6 rooms in each home for $425 CAN to students. Do this with a few homes. 🙂

You definitely want something that is going to cashflow well so that if you need to cover short term debt you can do it. Liquor stores are usually good for this...

Wow, if $100k will get you a house for some of you, would it be a good investment for him to buy a couple houses to fix up and then rent/sell?

$400k is a fatty down payment out here. 😉

Rental property closer to Austin with at least 8 units, pay down some of my existing mortgage and other debts, stock market index fund, keep some liquid to use as disposable income to let me comfortably max my Thrift Savings contribution every year, and get my MBA

Did I mention it will be cash? 🙂

EDIT- I say forget the house for now and invest. Imagine the house(s) you can get afterwards.
I guess it comes with the business (slang- "hustla") mentality 🙂

Even if I had 5 million, I would still work alittle bit because I feel it's apart of being a man.
You have to "get down for your hustle", but really I would still have the drive even after. Although, it
would not be as strong.

Why do alot of you seek material possessions, maybe because you didn't have some of these things before? Maybe at some of your ages the house is the last thing needed?
