If you had $30,000-$50,000 saved up, what would you do with it?

Put a couple of grand in Sirius stock (SIRI) and one or two into Xybernaut (XYBR) in a long position and keep the rest in a good savings account. Then be careful and don't say anything to be sued for.

OP - don't blow it all on a car or something, that money can easily be turned into a stable source of income for you. If you have an idea for a business, do some research, see how feasible the idea is, or buy a house to fix up and make it a rental property, I'm in the process of purchasing a house near campus right now for some additional revenue. BTW bonds are another option, but I wouldn't bother with them with only 50,000, 500,000 or so it becomes worth it however.

I'd think about Aguilera but definately not Spears.
Brittney is just used trailer trash.
She always wanted to be like Madonna and now she is. You know, Madonna was HOT when she first came on the scene but after slutting herself, noone thinks of her as a sex symbol anymore.

use it to pay down my mortgage. paying about 5k in interest on my mortgage this year, tax deduction will get me back ~1/3 of that so i'm still 3.3k down. 3.3k/50k is 6.6% cant find a reliable investment that will get me that sort of return so i'd rather pay the mortgage down.

Is this a stock tip thread now? 😛
Definately invest or house. Savings accounts are useless. Well... in my eyes, investing and buying a house are pretty much the same thing, with different amounts of money~

It would already be invested somewhere in a broad portolio.

10K in savings, 20 in index, 20 in funds/play money.

-edit- actually, probably by a bigger house.

Buy myself a '97-'98 Nissan 240SX and fix it up ($10-15k, including the cost of the car) and then put the rest into investments or savings.

Edit: I  pistachios.

Put half of it toward a brand new Dodge Magnum with some custom rims, bag it, put in a monster system, and then just save the rest as payments would be no problem.
