lots of players get their degrees even during their pro careers (I know Jason Witten did last year). For many it has to do with finishing/accomplishing a goal.

how about the fact that he does not have kids/ baby's momma/ momma to help support like the other guys who consider going pro. he came from a decent background and his college experience is worth it to him. happiness> 2 million signing bonus

Normally a player can't go wrong with this time tested advice: C.R.E.A.M.

But if Tebow only lasts 4-5 years in the league as a backup QB/Kordell Stewart for the 2000's, regardless of whether he starts in '09 or '10, he's probably not cutting a year of earning potential off the back end of his career by staying another year at Florida. Assuming Kiper and his hair are correct in projecting Tebow at late 2nd round/early 3rd round, it would appear he's delaying $1-2M/yr (maybe a bit more if drafted as a QB, I'm not interested enough to take this google exercise any further).

It's probably not a horrible decision for Tebow to sign on for another year of hero status, decent free time, and endless supply of 18 year old FL poon he's got dialed up and ready in Gainesville.

In Tebow's case, he should live it up in college because he has no real future in the NFL besides as a backup.

In the case of a guy who is projected to be a top 10 pick, you HAVE to go. By staying, you're leaving millions on the table and risking losing it all if you get horribly injured.

You're crazy if you think he stayed in school just to get a degree. He's nowhere near NFL material. If I were him, I'd stay in college and be the big man on campus for as long as I can before I'm forced to get a real job.

Do you really think he'll be missing out on a social life when he's in the NFL? As a top-notch college athlete your goal is probably getting into the NFL. So the realistic situation would be Happiness +2 million signing bonus>staying at school.
