It'll probably get locked, but I know it'll get the most views here...

I sold mine on ebay, and I specifically cancelled it (though if i'm not mistaken it was supposed to stop working after 60 days/2500 mins)...well, I got a bill today for over $707. Someone apparently called and cancelled (according to reps) on 1/8/02 cancelling the account (obviously not me).

So if you didn't specifically cancel, watch out.

And to anyone that says it's not a hot deal etc, i'm sorry..just wanted as many people as possible to read this, so hopefully they can rectify the problem (if in fact it's not just a singled-out incidence).

Hey wasssup ... Did you ever activate it and use it for yourself before selling it?

I thought I did, but apparently I didn't (they sent me two, I used one)

they said there was no usage for a long time, then suddenly in december there was usage leading up to ~1600 minutes...what's really pissing me off is that someone called in 1/8 and cancelled my account -- the rep insists they couldn't do that without my social security number or account number.

hey kermalou, were the ppl who bought it able to activate it? and how?

i'm not to keen on going for blazing 19.2kpbs speeds anyway, i want to get rid of this thing and buy a new dust collector

well I looked in my inbox, and sure enough I found an email from the bidder...he claims the card stopped working 12/21 (about 60 days after the 10/23 activation date), and he was able to somehow get it put into his name around the beginning of january...

so i'm guessing sprint isn't taking the free 2500mins into account.

I also got a bill...actually two since I sold two...I contacted my bidders and they told me that they switched the accounts. I remember I specifically cancelled these accounts too. HMMM

wasssup and others please tell me how it went with Sprint Customer service.

Also, what happens if I don't deal with sprint and just let the accounts just fade away. I don't think they can track me since I don't remmeber giving away my SSN.

I got a bill too for ~$39 for the modem that I hung on to...I am scared to see what the bill for the one I sold is for when it comes to my other address....Are people getting these charges reversed? and how easy it? I would think it would not be a good thing to just ignore them as they might not have my SS but they do have my address. ;(

happymac: I haven't resolved the problem yet...but like I mentioned before, it looks like the idiots at sprint didn't take the free 2500 minutes into account..BeerGoggles said he only used his for a bit and got a bill for $39, which is more proof to validate my theory. fvck sprint.

The second time i called the lady said she will file some fraud thingy , but anywyas she will contact me to , i told both of them i never had account with sprint and i dont have any phones with u.
They said they will call me back , so i am hoping they will cancel this bill.

I received a bill for $0.00 from Sprint yesterday. I called them today to cancel it. The cs rep told me that I wouldn't have to do anything since I have a house account that is already expired (the 90 days or whatever it was is over). She claims that the I shouldn't be able to dial with the modem anymore. Haven't tried it yet.
