Reading this article makes me really angry. The white family relocated to a different place temporarily for work. When they came back they found some illegal Mexicans had taken their house. The illegal Mexicans took over this white family's home through fraudulent paperwork claiming they bought the house for $5000🙄. The law is actually protecting the illegal Mexicans more than the actual people who owns the house.😡

Even if you are on a 2 or 3 week vacation, it seems like squatters can just come by and claim your house. If you are a home owner what can you do to prevent this from happening?

Don't remember the particulars but crooks were forging quit claim deeds to take land/timber some years back. I assume the laws have changed. But since this is SC..........if a car is more than 7 years old, it can be taken to the scarp metal shop without a title.😵 Steal it, scrap it, profit.()🙂

If you read the article carefully... the original home owners have not paid their mortgage for a year and $20,000 behind in payments... Technically the bank owns the rights to your home until you completely paid off your home loan... for all we know the bank forclosed on them while they were gone and put it up for sale or wrote it off - so anyone willing to pick up and pay the property taxes on it may lay claim to it...

Maybe the bigots in this thread should take a powder. No where does the article state the nationality of the squatters. As most Spanish surnamed folks in the U.S. are U.S. citizens the default assumption aught to be "they are citizens" not "them's illegals". Seriously, the bigotry displayed here is disgusting.
