I was told that small caliber bullets (.22) have the potential to bounce around inside, tearing things apart...but I don't know much about guns.

It depends on three factors
a. where it hits the head
b. the angle at which it strikes the head (ricochets are quite possible)
c. range from which it was fired at

Wow...so many clueless people in one thread. Listen, if you have no knowledge of something beyond info from a video game maybe, just MAYBE, you shouldn't put in your useless two cents.

the level of ignorance in this thread is mind boggling:shocked:

jEct2 - learn a bit about guns - read and learn about ballistics and wound performance

otispunkmeyer - a .50 to your torso will kill you, bf2 has it so wrong it is sad. here is some very graphic footage of what a .50 will do, i am not sure if it is real, but from friends of mine that were in the military they said a .50 will destroy anything so i am guessing it is probably pretty accurate.

a friend of mine has one and when he goes shooting they will shoot stuff like engine blocks, but nothing can withstand the power of it. i haven't seen it being shot but the next time he takes it out i will bring my video camera. from what he has told me it is extremely loud and shakes the ground something fierce.

i guess it could lead to a new way of hunting, have the guy with the .50 on a hilltop and have scouts down in the valley, then give the .50 guy gps coordinates to where a deer is...kind of like calling in artillery...

Shoot yourself and don't report back. Reload magazine if necessary.

Glock is only the name of a manufacturer. All a Glock does it hit the pin on the bullet to make the bullet fire. A Glock can kill someone the same as a Baretta, Smith & Wesson, Desert Eagle, etc. as long as it was the same caliber and barrell length.

Glocks come in the following sizes:
.45
.40
.357
.380
10mm
9mm

The best you would fair would be a shot to the head with a .380 or a 9mm. I would not recommend either. A shot to the head with any other would almost always equal death with a hollow-point bullet.

Or with a full metal jacket, which would penetrate better and be even more likely to breach the skull.

maybe the guy just got grazed as a grazing wound would appear round, i would like to see the video the op is talking about as i highly doubt anybody would walk around with a hole in the forehead.

the chances of you actually being shot in such a way that the bullet only severs non-essential lobes from each other is really remote, and you're still going to be facing major mental or physical disabilities afterwards.

all the fury of powder charge arms yet a cleaning patch or even grass blade in your bbl and you're done - what 'bout dem rubbler bullets? Pneumatic turrets that propel minature bead filled pillow things (die size bean bags?) hurt like hell but hardly fatal. Filling the slugs with Na OTOH though - ouch.

There's basically no way that a modern JHP round isn't going to pierce someone's skull, even at a range beyond the usability of a handgun.

I bet you prefer JHPs, don't you brad? Nothin' better for smacking a PCP fiend to the ground.

I have a Glock. I bet it would kill most people with one shot to the forehead. :p
