Keep it, get a cheap/used guitar, take lots of pics striking hero poses, play it for two weeks, store it under my bed, give it to my future child when I need an emergency 13th birthday present.

i saw it too, but i was too slow to react. would you guys have kept it?

edit: gf said she'd donate to a church

I would try very hard to find the owner. I know how hard I work for my money, and I if I lost it I would want it returned.

Right... what's he going to do, start asking people in the subway if they dropped some money? I don't know what city the OP is from, but if you pulled a stunt like that in NYC you would get a few "owners" claiming that money pretty quickly.

no matter what you answer to that poll, everyone would take the money without even thinking twice.

Speak for yourself. The few times I've seen loose bills on the ground I've just left them there and kept walking. If it was a wallet or credit card, I would pick it up and try to find the owner, or at least put it in a mailbox or something.

i would LIKE to say that i'd pick it up and post a bilboard saying "money found - tell me the amount and the bill arrangment and its yours"
then after a month of no one claiming it i'd spend it

however, in reality i'd pick it up and probably by something stupid

If it were near a business or anything I'd probably go in and ask if anyone lost some money and ask them to tell me how much/what type of bills.

I found a $20 bill outside my elementary school when I was in 1st grade and turned it in at the principals office. Turned out it belonged to the sub I had the next day.

A few years later I found a wallet with no ID in it and some money, turned it in to the police, was supposed to be able to get it back if no one claimed it in 30 or 90 days, but we never went back, I still wants that free wallet.

Truth story, when I was in High School I found $900 cash and tried for 2 seconds searching for the owner then gave up:eek:. I bought my first car with the money. :D

I'd drag my foot on it until the dollars were unusable and then leave them there.

$220...that amount, I'd probably call the police and turn it in. It really depends on the amount though. If it was $100, I'd keep it.

A few months ago I found $240 in front of an office building. I left a note in one of the first floor offices to call me if anyone was missing some money. I got a call about 1/2 hour later from the owner, who was able to correctly identify that all the lost bills were 20s and the approximate amount. Apparently some of the bills were lost to the wind that day.

I thought for sure I was going to get to keep what I had found.
