If you drop a class, but then a day later realize you shouldn't have dropped it...

You can always make a case with your advisor, the dean of the school, and the professor. Just go in and talk. I'm sure there is something they can work out.
 
If drop-add is already over, and/or the class is full, your best bet is to speak with the professor (as mentioned above). Most tend to be pretty understanding, unless it's a course that regularly has 10-15 students asking for an additional seat.

"Add" is over, but "drop" doesn't end until Friday. And the class is less than half-full.

I'm just going to go early tomorrow morning and talk to someone in the registration and admissions office.
 
I believe most drops are final. Though I would definately check up on it... all the paperwork might not be filed and confirmed.
