If You Don't See Me After Tonight

I got some Greek yogurt with an expiration of Oct1. Some of the yogurt leaked out, but the lids were bulging and holding gas!?!? I said to hell with it, and ate 1. It was more tart than usual, but otherwise seemed normal. I looked around online, and some people said they'd eat yogurt until it got moldy. It was blueberry yogurt, so if it had blue mold, I'm screwed :^D

Anyway, if I don't post anymore, don't eat yogurt with bulging lids :^P

I just got back from the supermarket where they were selling 1kg tubs of yoghurt for $1. The catch is that they expire in two days. So now I have 2 days to go through 2kg of yoghurt. Pretty sure I can do it.

The expiration date is relative. The food won't be inedible at one minute past 12 after the expedition date.

They might not magically turn bad the instant the expiration date arrives.

Though you could still eat that amount of yogurt in 2 days or less just for fun.

I don't know if you are being serious, but I've seen many people throw food away the day it "expired". Heck, I drink milk 3-4 days after the expiration date.

Heh nah I'm only kidding, I wouldn't have bought 2kg of yoghurt if I thought I had to consume it all in 2 days. I don't even like yoghurt that much 😕 Yet I have 2kg in my fridge.

I was just thinking that was a lot, then I was like... wai.. wha? what language is this?

First of all, it is never suggested to use a expiry dated food item. Avoid heat treated yogurts as these have reduced healthy active cultures when eaten fresh. There are many different brands for Greek yogurts. Check out the source list of popular brands of Greek yogurts in supermarkets and specialty health food shops. Choices include those with flavors, plain styles, and choices in different levels of fat.

the lids on everything here buldge... but its because they are all packaged well below our 6500 foot elevation. at the camp, above 7k the pingles lids wont even stay on because the foil is buldged so much. at 11k when you open them they fly all over because of the change in pressure.

Maybe the pringles evolved and grew wings.

It is bulging because the bacteria is still alive. They kill it in regular store yogurt. You just had some good Greek stuff.

Yogurt: Unless it has mold, it just becomes more tart. It becomes more yogurt and less milk with age.
