With Pay@Delivery your online or auction payment is released only when the merchandise you purchased has been delivered to you.

i've recently used Pay@Delivery. it's much more like escrow service. the buyer pays first. USPS holds the money. when the delivery is shipped using USPS Priority Mail and delivery is confirmed, the money is deposited into your account. There is however a $4 or $5 monthly fee.

The US Postal Service finally joins the Internet revolution. Too bad it's a monthly service and not a one time use thing.

It does have a single use plan cost you a 1.00 per use
you don't have to choose the monthly plan

Three months free, then just $5.95 per month for 15 payments (with $.50 for each additional payment)*

Pay As You Go plan, with $1.00 for each payment

Can you pay only through your checking or money market? How do they handle complaints in case someone sends you a brick, wrong item, broken, etc ?

That's what I was going to ask... they can just send you a confirmed brick 🙂

hmm, so it's only $1 fee total for each transaction?
Sound like I can ditch the money sucking Paypal and use pay@delivery from now on.

Delivery Confirmation doesn't always get scanned in at the delivery end according to some busy ebay sellers. When would you get paid if USPS screws up?????

In the past when I've used delivery confirmation, it was confirmed at two different times
one was when it made it to the zipcode (big deal, so it got to the post office)
and another was when it made it to my address (the package was left in the open and could have been stolen)

I haven't used this service but the last time I had something shipped to me USPS it took 35 days from Iowa to Texas and they wouldn't even let the shipper trace it until 30 days had passed. Carrier just brought the package to the house, nothing marked on the box that it had gone astray or anything.
