I have struggled with who to vote for in the Minnesota senate race. I did not make up my mind really until this past weekend. I hate both Franken and Coleman they both are scum. I also don't want Coleman to lose and give the democrats 60 seats. I finally have decided to vote for Dean Barkley. Screw it I can't stomach voting for someone like Coleman. I am hoping many in Minnesota do the same and send a message to both major parties about nasty campaigns.

I like some of McCain's policies, and I think some of his plans (health care, etc.) COULD work and aren't complete failures like many people think, but they don't really excite me. Matt, I plan to vote but not for the President. I could never vote Republican and can't stand Obama. However, there are some important local questions that need to be voted on.

Right. I think that's what I'm going to do, too.

I think that a wise decision. I would hate to see you vote for Obama just to prove to yourself that your not a Bigot. Of course sunlight reflection won't like that much.

It's easy...I'm sort of undecided myself. I dislike BOTH candidates, BUT, having been a Democrat all my life, Obama will most likely get my vote.
This is yet another election where I wish there was a viable 3rd party candidate I could support.

Not only might people have an underlying prejudice against the idea of a minority being elected as president, many people are afraid of being accused of being bigots and as such, lie to the pollsters rather than have to explain WHY they won't vote for Obama.
