Thank you for asking. Pay no attention to these fools who make fun of me. They are jealous of my tremendous perspicacity and overall brilliance and especially so when they see themselves in the mirror.

Let's go back to your OP:

1. "I do not like some of his strong opinions on things - they are way too much for me to personally handle."

2. "I'm against a lot of Obama's feelings"

Note two things, first, that you have strong feelings and second, that you do not identify them.

Strong feelings that one doesn't identify are the mark of a bigot, a person who feels unconscious bias against somebody for irrational reasons. Their unconscious nature is what conceals them and the irrationality is why they aren't spoken.

If you had truly sought to resolve your problem you would have identified exact nature of the problem you have with Obama as you were easily able to with McCain.

So you can fool all these dumb dumbs here but you can't slip by Moonbeam.

So my post was to flush you out. I want you to tell us what those strong feelings are so we can all see if they are bigotry or not. But, of course, you will have to be honest, if you can. Remember the exact nature of the feelings may in fact be quite unconscious, but you may be able to make a start.

And it is well known that people, in the end, when faced with a dilemma, pull the lever in favor of their bigotry. This has been studied by science and I also have natural ability there. :)

Are you kidding? And deprive these poor souls of one of the geniuses any of them have ever seen? Not likely. Your IQ probably ticks up to double digits whenever you enter a thread I'm in. I wouldn't take that gift from you for the world.

I'll compare education and IQ any day of the week with you. Calling Matt a bigot shows how much of a moron you are.

Moonbeam has learned well from the Republicans he fears and hates. When anyone refuses to fall in line, simply call them unpatriotic, or in this case, a bigot, or whatever. It matters not what you call them, as long as you demonize them. There is no room for merited dissent. The enemy must be destroyed to discourage others from getting out of line.

My my, You sure get upset when you think I'm out of line. Unfortunately I'm not very intimidated.

Intimidation wasn't my intention.

Hehe, you fatuous fat head, I could care less what your IQ or education is. So far in this thread you have offered absolutely nothing but how easily pricked your pompous ego is.

And I called your dear Matt a bigot to draw him out, something a genius of your caliber would never suspect. I'm not bound by imbecilic notions of propriety that keep you bound. I am an explorer of truth and ideas and I get to them by means you haven't even dreamed of.

But it was. You thought by identifying me as a Republican intimidate you could shame me too. You lied that I fear and hate Republicans when I have posted over and over that all they seek to do is preserve the good. In fact it's you who fear and hate Republicans; you just happen to fear and hate Democrats too. You seek to identify me with them so you can demonize both. But I'm not intimidated. I don't buy your ideological crap that the two parties are the same. I have eyes and can see they are different and your words and emperor clothing can't change that.

And it is well known that people, in the end, when faced with a dilemma, pull the lever in favor of their bigotry. This has been studied by science and I also have natural ability there. :)

For what it's worth, I had the same reaction as Moonbeam here.

One thing to clarify is that bigotry doesn't mean KKK member out screaming to hurt the target group. It means 'feelings' that you might be little aware of as bigotry.

I can speak somewhat from firsthand experience. I've come to realize I had some bigotry I was unaware of, and I realize I still have it, it's not so easy to get rid of.

What I can do is to choose my behavior, and to treat people right.

It jumped out at me from the OP how there's this 'mystery factor' about Obama.

Now, for the people who are so simplistic, a side note: voting against Obama doesn't make you racist. If you have some reason other than bigotry, it's not racist.

But the OP is very specific about his politics, about why he opposes McCain, but when it comes to his opposition to Obama, nothing specific. That is a red flag.

So what is that mystery factor? IMO, one likely suspect is a 'latent racism', a visceral reaction hard to understand, that just opposes this amount of change to a black president.

What's one way to identify bigotry? Ask yourself if you take a negative reaction to something someone does, and you think of another person doing it, do you feel the same?

If not, that can make you aware you have some bigotry you did not know about. You have to ask though, to spot it.

IMO, most bigotry is unnoticed by people that they have it.

I'll give an example - I've always had a 'disgusted reaction' to the idea of gay sex. It's easy early on to confuse that with being against homosexuality. Feeling of disgust towards the act = feeling of disgust toward the condition = feeling of disgust towards the gay people. But it's more sensible to recognize that the reaction of disgust to gay sex is normal, and to try to understand how they feel, and how they are very similar only differently wired so that their attractions and loves are as valid as heterosexual, and that discrimination is unjustified.

It's ok and even normal and right to be both disgusted by the idea of gay sex and a passionate advocate for gay equal rights.

But until you come to deal with your disgusted reaction, you might find you deal with the disgust over gay sex by strongly condemning homosexuality and opposing gay rights, as if your saying you don't approve might in some way turn homosexuality into a behavioral choice you can get rid of or at least absolve yourself of responsibility for. The only problem is that you are hurting innocent people as the price for dealing with your feeling of disgust.

The OP here suggests to me that race may be a real factor he's not aware of. He's been honest in describing his feelings. Now it's up to him to consider whether it might be race.

If Obama were white, how would he feel about voting for him with the same views? I note the OP has ignored numerous requests to identify the specific 'extreme positions'.

This isn't an attack on the OP, it's a suggestion for him to possibly understand the situation if race is the case.

My opinion is that Obama is no more 'extremist' than Gore or Kerry (Kerry was called, wrongly, 'the most liberal Senator' as well). I'd better understand if he thought Obama was too far to the *right*, with his compromising on telecom amnesty, his support for the Wall Street bailout, his opposition to gay marriage, his militant comments on Iran and so on.

There are many more candidates than just Obama/McCain on the presidential ballot.

Many state and local elections are going to be on the ballot including offices for justices in local communities as well as other things, where your vote can and does make a difference.

Too bad the votes which count the most (local and state) people pay attention to the least even though they are the most important in the long term because that is where most politicians in Washington come from.

Are you willing to cut off your local, state nose in order to spite your presidential face?

No. It was as bad as I've got for you though and I was just going to edit the post. What you say doesn't hurt me which looks to be your intent, but it does make me sad because my respect for you is so much greater than your own for yourself.

Are you going to add any insight for the OP? Based on all of your one line replies in the forum, I'm thinking you're just a troll. Or are you just a Moonbat suck-up?

Not to be inflammatory, but I can't stand Rossi. It also creeps me out greatly what he must have went through prior this campaign. It is quite clear that he has been training heavily on appearing like a kind individual etc (learning how to smile and appear genuine etc)

If you watch his old campaign ads and compare them with the new you will see what i mean.

That doesn't bug me so much, all politicians do that. Look at Obama when he was making speeches in Chicago trying to get elected to the House.. he had a black preacher voice going on.

I just don't have any enthusiasm for Gregoire, I went to her web site and she had nothing about the issues.

FUCK NO you shouldn't vote unless you've bothered to inform yourself on each candidate's policies. For all you know, one candidate might be a Nazi. Would you vote for a Nazi? Probably not. It only takes a few minutes to get a summary of each candidate's positions, and maybe a few days to have a well-informed opinion. There's still time to read up before election day and have an informed opinion when you go to the voting booth.
