I loved how they used LOTR style music/narration in the beginning.

Best part was Annie describing the "relations" between her character and Abed's NPC character without any actual sound. Someone in another forum had their girlfriend lipread what she was saying and it was dirty as fuck :D

"Two...Three...No Four Fingers"

I knew this would be a classic as soon as I saw the dark elf.

"Two...Three...No Four Fingers"

I knew this would be a classic as soon as I saw the dark elf.

Here's the whole conversation, with the silent part that needed lipreading to translate:

"Alright, come on, can we just do this? Hi. 'Hello, I'm Hector the Well-Endowed. You've got a bunch of pegasi. Let's make a deal.'"

"'What kind of deal?'"

"Alright, I take her by the hand, and lead her to the stable. I light a candle, and rip off a piece of my tunic, which I fashion into a blindfold."

[going off script for a second, was I the only one getting all sorts of shades of "I put on my robe and wizard hat" here?]

"'Oh Hector, but I don't know if--'"

"'Shhh...sshhhhh....'

"I place it gently over the elf maiden's eyes. I slowly lay her down...

"I gently cup her right breast, and then her left. And then...

"...two fingers...alright three?...four?...I place four fingers in her...

"...I pull out my huge member..."

(rolls) "You succeed"

"...Then I flip her over, and start spanking..."

"'AAHHH!' Okay, you both fall back, exhausted, but still entwined."

"Okay, great! I stroke her hair lovingly, and spoon her for the appropriate amount of time before leaving."

"How long is that?"

"Cool cool cool, alright, the elf maiden, thoroughly satisfied, promises you a flock of pegasi."

"Ooooh! Excellent!"

Ya, I never played AD&D before, but that episode was hilarious! Not many shows actually make me laugh out loud but I did during this episode. A-bed (as Piece pronounces it) is becoming a great actor. Chang in his night elf costume was also great.

Dark Elf ... GOLD. Wish they would have let him live a little longer :D

I was just laughing looking at him ... them his super white teeth while he talked, didn't even matter what he said, hahahaha.

I normally like community, but this episode sucked. I bored to death with it and stopped watching half way through. Chang as the dark elf was the only funny bit, imo.

In my defense, I don't care for D&D, and I've hated all of community's themed episodes except for the paintball and halloween episode.

I think the themed episodes have a very different feel from the "normal" episodes. This probably means audiences are more likely to have extreme views about how good they were.

A regular episode would probably be a more representative first look at the show.

Wanna know how much I loved it? I actually recognized the map Abed had open on the table. It was from Queen of the Demonweb Pits.

I gotta say, I expected more, but it fell flat for me, too. :\

Pierce's broom closet throne was rpetty awesome, and Annie talking about getting it on with the elf queen/pegasus or whatever was pretty good.

but other than that....eh.

yeah, but most of them are homages to something, as normal as they might appear.

The Goodfellas episode remains my favorite, along with the conspiracy/fort city episode from this season.

The episode as a whole was funny, but I didn't have a ton of laugh out loud moments...probably just the dark elf and Annie's dirty stuff.

Besides the dramatic exaggeration is that really how D&D is played? I might have to try it.

Not a D&D player but a big Community fan, I'd rate this episode as so-so.

If you're into D&D comedy, check out The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. Absolutely bloody hysterical.
