You're right. I'm just constitutionally unable to work that way. I used to know a security guy at a weapons manufacturer who's entire job consisted of watching two other guys work, going to the bathroom with them and, filling out reports on his observations. I would go crazy and shoot up the place in under a month.
I'm always amazed at the number of people with jobs that 1. allow them to go to non work related sites, 2. have time to go to non work related sites and, 3. can stand to work at a job where significant portions of their day is doing nothing.
My entire job is watching other people work. More than 2 people though, for instance there were 94 people on site today. On average about 50 people.

There's a difference between managing/supervising/directing and, simply observing. Tell me if all you ever did was observe that you wouldn't be a fruitloop in short order.

I totally would. My only concern is I wouldn't get any actual work done.
