If you could talk to HTC or Samsung..

This man knows what's up. I honestly can't think of a more concise list of my personal pet peeves with these manufacturers.

Oddly enough my experience with a Nexus One is only 1 month long, and I toyed with an Incredible S for probably hours in the phone store before deciding on the Nexus S. Heh. I could probably appreciate/hate HTC a little more if I had more time with the phones.

Still toying the idea of buying a Sensation at the moment though...

There was already an announcement on that. I guess you must have missed it. August and September they are sending out the updates for the bootloaders.

Incredible S and Desire S already has S-OFF. Sensation has temp root I believe? So I guess it really affects you if you have the Sensation and/or EVO 3D, but then again those are like the only phones in the US. Inc 2 seems very neglected. LoL. Interestingly enough the Incredible S had a decent presence worldwide, but I'm guessing because the Desire and Inc both had 5 months or so before Sensation hit the waters

I saw the announcement.. and that announcement is still not final..
it is pending the carriers approval... which still brings me to dont make promises you cannot keep..

If you say you are going to unlock all bootloaders especially on a product that people were going to boycott unless you caved in.. DO IT..

My meeting with HTC was awesome, they selected groups of bloggers, served lunch and then picked our brains for an hour, they seriously wanted to know what we want in mobile devices, including apps. We broke into teams at the end and each group did a whitesheet showing what our perfect device would be. Bloggers want many of the same things that you guys want and I included many of your sugestions on my wish list.

The best part of the meeting was that I sensed HTC really wanted our imput, they weren't just BSing mommy bloggers in hopes of generating a lot of positive PR for themselves. I'd like to think I've been to enough of these events at this point to discern the difference.

As for Samsung, there wasn't really a chance for me to ask deeper questions as their booth was essentially a rest, charge your device, meet us kind of setup. However, it looks like they are really setting up their game in customer outreach & support with new teams om twitter and facebook that have already started outreach so I remain positive, hopeful that they want consumer feedback to assist them in fine tuning, improving their products.

sounds good.

as far as unlocking goes, i could only judge phones as they are when it's out. promises to do something "at some point in the future" could materialise after i've moved to another phone.

WTF why?

look at phone without turning it on

blue light = txt
green light = email

blue also functions as VM as gvoice txts me about that

Little late to reply, but I really can't stand blinking lights. Just one of those things that really peeves me off to no end.

I don't have any HDD activity lights in my PCs, either. I'm going to have to keep my MT4G Slide upside down when I get it.

umm just turn it off.

just because you have some issue with it does not mean everyone does

Because of no led notifications, it made Samsung make the design decision to screen on and even BEEP when the your phone is finished charging. Yes, even in the middle of the night while you are sleeping.

no led notification just seems so backwards to me.

Mine never beeped. There was a popup that stayed up on the shipping 2.1 software, but it didn't light the screen, and it was made a notification on 2.2 that ALSO didn't light the screen.
