In an attempt to better myself and our community, I would like to request this:

Please post at least one thing you would like to share with the world. It can be (but not limited to):
-Something everyone in your position at work should know. (Eg. Zookeeper: Monkeys throw poop when they are mad)
-Something that you have learned through life experiences. (Eg. 110v hurts!)
-Something your parents told you that has always rang true. (Eg. Nothing in life is free) (except in Hot Deals forums)
-Etc..

My Addition:

When you call computer support, please be friendly. You have no clue how much they know about you. They can make or break your day if they desire.

I think the one thing I would like to share with the world is some advice my Grandfather gave me many years ago. It has proven to be sage advice and I think everyone should know it.

Here goes

Never pass up getting a piece of ass, even if you are by yourself.

How do you get a piece of ass if you are by yourself? It would have to be REALLY long, no?

well that didn't take long.. I mean think about it. With the user base of these forums and the virtually limitless knowledge, do you know how much you could learn if every person posted a "well known fact"..

Radio: Anyone who calls between 9pm and 6am is insane and/or stupid. Don't answer the phones.
Example: 9:10pm tonight. It's 44F. A kid calls and asks if school is cancelled tomorrow because of the weather.
Example2: Woman calls every night and wants to talk to someone who has never worked there, she won't take it as an answer.

-Something that you have learned through life experiences. (Eg. 110v hurts!)

No matter what the short-term benefits may be, *never* st@b a good friend in the back. I'll be living with that for the rest of my life.

-Something your parents told you that has always rang true. (Eg. Nothing in life is free) (except in Hot Deals forums)

No one cares if you don't like it, just deal with it and shut up.

You all know what st@b is supposed to be

For God's sake... "Nuclear" is pronounced NU-CLE-AR, not NU-CU-LAR!

Something that you have learned through life experiences.

Speeding and darting in and out of traffic really *does* get you there faster. (Presuming that you don't get in an accident)

Here are two things that it took me a long time to learn.

Good friends are priceless, and you can never have too many. I'm talking about the kind of friends that you can give a key to your house to and never worry about it.

Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

Listen to that little voice in your head. You know, the one that says "If you keep prying on this with that flathead screwdriver, you're going to slip and run that sucker through your hand." The first 20 years of my life I ignored that voice and have the scars to prove it.

Eventually I got the idea, and now when I get that feeling that I need to stop before something bad wrong happens, I do.
