If you could repeal one law, what would it be?

poll tests. idiots should not be allowed to vote.

actually i think it is legal to discriminate based on intellect as far as voting goes, if you read the amendment strictly.

the abolition of the homestead act. This IMO was the greatest single government grabbing from the middle class/lower class ever. Where every adult *could* get up to 340 acres if he made substantial improvements over time.

Sixteenth Amendment

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

I am over 21 but the ban on alcohol consumption by minors is pretty high up my list of ridiculous laws.

So if there is no income tax how do you plan to pay for things? Government does cost money, perhaps budget and spending reform would be better?

I'd get rid of that stupid dmca

Though i would love for it to be legal to grow and consume marijuana, the law that gets me the most is affirmative action. That law is the biggest piece of racist crap i have ever seen! I hope the person who invented that law burns in hell. (well not really)

peace

Since it wasn't ratified until February 3, 1913, and obviously Uncle Sam had money to spend prior to 1913, there isn't a neccesitating relationship between the existence of income taxes and the ability of government to have money to spend... somehow for the previous 125 years, the government managed to find money to spend somehow (mainly through excise taxes)

The DMCA.

<< The the first law of ThermoDynamics. I could create a perpetual motion machine and make billions! >>
