Also.. why not use technology... it's team vs team, if we could have better umps, why don't we get them:
Here's the perfect ump: put some sort of tiny device in the baseball and determine electronically if the ball was in the strike zone or not... it wouldn't be difficult at all to implement.

Imagine that: flawless calls of ball or strike...

One thing I hate about the NBA and NHL (not sure about football) is that so many teams make the playoffs. Jeez.. practically half the NBA goes to the playoffs it seems. Reduce the amount of teams that make the playoffs. Only GOOD teams should make the playoffs.

For baseball I say reduce the season to 150 games and extend the division series to 7 games instead of 5. Enforce time limits when it comes to batters getting off the batters box between pitches and how long it takes a pitcher to throw. Meaning make the game faster. 5 seconds max between pitches. The game would go tons faster.

I like the Tennis suggestion about scoring. Also I think men's tennis matches take WAY too long. I think I remember a 4 hour match once. Thats insane.

Make Football action more constant.. there are WAY too many stops and starts in a NFL game. I dig australian rules football..always moving.
The whole underdog aspect is what makes playoffs fun.

Baseball is a slow game based around single play by play strategy, removing that would change the entire game.

Tennis, who cares?

Football, like baseball, is also about stoppage of play. That is a integral part of the game.

People would hax0r it in the first 20 minutes of it being implemented. Also, who would guys scream at when they strike out?

Fill up the football in American football with either a timed bomb or nitroglycerin.

But I remember and old MAD magazine from the sixties spicing up some sports:
Chess = Nuclear war
Stockcars had build in dynamite with triggers on the bumbers, and the track had landmines.

The strike zone is actually based on the batter. A database of baseball players and their strike zones? Crazy.

In football, everyone gets a mace. And I don't mean the girly spray stuff.

Seriously, in college football I would change the celebration rules back to what they were prior to this season. The one game I have watched this year had something like 4 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties for things that every year before now would have been just part of the game.

I remember a baseball video game from a long time ago where you'd have to fight for every base. So kinda like baseball + ultimate fighting.

actually, i was thinking, runners on 2nd and 3rd, no outs. a line drive to right field, the right fielder guns it home and a close play at the plate (contested tag there), then the guy who hit the ball rounds for 2nd, catcher throws to second, out safe, doesnt matter, and the guy who was originally at 2nd runs in and scores while that throw to 2nd was being made. but if it is determined the first guy got tagged out at home, where does that put the runners?

I don't understand why that hinges on if the guy at the plate is out or not.

LOL...I love that idea. Why does everyone have to be quiet in golf but when they are shooting free throws in basketball everyone can yell and wave things behind the basket? My guess would be that basketball is played by athletes and golf is played by out of shape old men in funny pants.

I also think they should have less grabbing in hockey, it is getting so bad you rarely see a lot of speed and skill play anymore.

I'd say only road races for NASCAR. That's a bit more interesting. Pretty hilarious to see those dinosaurs slide around the track.

One oval race in F1 would be awesome, prefferably a super speedway. I always wondered how that would be.
:D

Ferrari would rape everyone. With an oval track it ends up being alot about the car and not the driver and there are less mistakes.

BS, Murcielago would 0wn

Let the audience vote for scores on gymnastics. It should be like America's Funniest Videos or something along those lines. Let everyone do his/her routine, then some emcee should recap the routines, and let the audience press a button to decide(or vote from your AT&T wireless phone... Whatever) or something. They've already succumbed to the boos once. They might as well let the audience decide the whole thing.

How about we hold in in AZ at Ford's APG 5mile oval. MT got the ENZO up to 211 there so i'm sure Schumacher could hit 230 if they get the areo package right.

the audience would have to be an equal amount from each country that has a gymnist to get around biased voting or something...

Make the balls provided by the league, and since it's electonic it could be verified after the fact...

Put a PC behind the catcher. Yell at that, we all have practice.

personally, i would like to limit the amount of time a batter can spend outside the batter's box during an AB. These guys that like to mess with pitchers just iritates the hell out of me when im watching a game.

And while we're at it, let's fix college OT. The rules are great, but the starting field position is horrible. The 25 is too close and makes for the epic 6 or 7OT games. Yes, they're fun to watch and all, but I think starting at the 30 or 35 would make the OT better. Start the teams out of field goal range, basically.

Congratulations, you're the third person to suggest topless women's sports. Your originality award will be forthcoming.

Holding penalty in football should be 10 yards as it's hard to see, so you have to really penalize them when they're caught.

Celebrations are back. It's stupid that teams can't celebrate together. How, exactly, does that affect the game in a negative way?

Somehow, if a certain running back makes up at least 50% of a drive, they have to get the goal-line touches as well. I never want to see that fat f*ck Bettis getting 5 carries, 1 yd, and 3 TDs in a game again.
