I know this thread is U.S. only but I'll have to say the Cayman Islands perked my interest. No crime, no unemployment, no income taxes.

If I could live anywhere... it'd be Alaska. Fortunately for me, I DO live here. I have exactly what I want in terms of location. I won't move until I'm dead in a casket and even then I wanna be buried here.

I'd definitely want to live somewhere secluded but I would have a hard time deciding between the coast of Washington or Oregon in a nice forest, the mountains of Colorado, the northern coast of Maine and the desert of Arizona.

I chose the suburbs of Hartford CT. Me and the wife both work from home so we got to choose where we live. We were on Long Island, but the lure of being able to live anywhere and the ridiculous high price we could get for our tiny house made it an easy decision to move. We chose where we are because of its proximity to Boston and NYC as well as the mountains, the ocean and the ruralness(sp) of it all. Our extended families all live in either NY/NJ or CT as well. The public school system for our 5 year old daughter is also top notch.

Northern Alaska where the nearest retard is about 50-75 miles away. If it was anywhere in the world, I would chose the South Pole in my fortress of solutide. I am more happier alone than with anyone else. It allows me to free and expand my mind.

San Diego would be my choice, too. Best weather in the continental US. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in Michigan.

It doesn't have the best weather. It doesn't snow there!

Somewhere on Cape Cod, MA. Some parts are expensive, but some not so much. The taxes there would be a real pain though.

Nevada or Arizona. Warm, dry, almost zero natural disasters, no snow and nice scenery.

DC is not quite northern or southern. I has four seasons, none of which is too extreme. The city has its parks, feels green at times.

I am only 6.5 hours from Germany by plane. 5 hours from the Bay Area, CA.

SOLD!

i live in PA now and have never lived anywhere else. so i would have to visit somewhere else before i could really decide.
i've only visited Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and DC. maybe Delaware.

i'm a fan of the old west so somewhere out west, like Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, etc sounds interesting to me.

I would move to Alaska. However, I would need broadband and the ability to quickly drive to every kind of major store (which Alaska does not generally have).

$70K will not let you afford a home in Orange County near the beach. Therefore I guess it is down to Alabma to live on the gulf coast.

My #1 place to live is either North San Diego county or Orange county near the beach.

Try Sitka Alaska, easily drive to any major store. It doesn't get too cold there either, doesn't really snow. Some of the greatest fishing in the world, plenty of seafood. However it still isn't a large town like Anchorage, so that's nice. It would be one of my top choices.
