If you could have only 10-15 channels on TV what would they be??

stay out of the thread if you cannot contribute.
no one wants or needs your opinion on others television habits.
I'm giving my 2 cents. I don't understand how anyone needs all these stations. How much free time do you people have? I'm not trying to thread crap, but I don't get it. I have the money for cable, but I don't want it. I can't imagine how much time would be wasted simply watching all those channels. How many hours of TV do you people watch? I suppose that would be a good poll to create. Look for my new thread...

Channels I need:
BBCAmerica
ABC
NBC
FOX
CBS
UPN
WB
Cartoon Network
Nick

Some I could do without:

WE
Lifetime
Oxygen
HSN
QVC
Angel
PAX

ESPN
ESPN2
FSN
FSN2
Comedy Central
Cartoon Network
CNN
ABC
Fox
NBC
CBS
Food Channel
Travel Channel
Discovery
ESPNews

15 channels! That would be great! I won't pay for cable, so we just have the local broadcast stations and an antenna. Let's see, that means ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, FOX, and WB/UPN.

I don't watch too much TV really but when I do it's nice to have a lot of channels so I can watch what I want. I hate most of the stuff on broadcast TV so I have cable. There is usually something good on about building stuff, blowing up stuff, wars, natural disasters, weapons, cars or something that?s not on broadcast TV. I actually read about 80% of my free time. 🙂

cbs, cnn, nbc, wb, bet, abc, tnn, fox, upn, mtv, mtv2, vh1, tnt, comedy, E!, espn, nick, abc family, food, discovery, TLC, usa, tbs

Hmmm.

2(ABC)
4(WB)
6(CBS)
8(NBC)
10(PBS)
12(FOX? UPN? whatever)
22(PAX)
49(FOX)

That's about all I would need.

Of course, those are all the channels we get here for free anyway. 😉

BET
MTV
TNT
TechTV
CNN
HBO 1
HBO 2
HBO 3
HBO 4
HBO 5
HBO 6
HBO 7
HBO 8
HBO 9
HBO 10

those are thew channels that I have now. I am sure if I had more channels, I would pick a better selection of channels.

You know what? For the first 13 years of my marriage, we survived off of TV antennas in the attic. We were luck to get 4, or maybe even 6 stations. At the time, we were happy with the amount of stations that we received. Now, we have a 9-year-old daughter and we have lots of hobbies and interests. Clearly, we find a lot of benefit in our cable TV subscription and 6 stations are no longer enough for us. And, now, we're not TV addicts - we have limits. Limits to the amount of TV that we watch and limits to the amount of TV that our daughter watches.

However, there are many great stations that we enjoy:
Animal Planet (my wife and daughter love this station)
Nick (My daughter loves this station)
TLC (A station that I enjoy)
Speed (another station that I enjoy)
Plus, many others.

You might be 21 now and content with your TV offerings. However, as you mature and your interests change, so will your viewing habits. It will be funny in ten years when you look back at the comments you made.
