Yes, being able only to observe changes things. It would be crushing to see a number of events and not be able to try to stop them. I wouldn't want to be in the room with Jimi on his last night, or be there when SRV stepped on the helicopter and not be able to warn them.

And I'll assume that if I can be sent back in time that I can also understand whatever language I need.

I'd watch Jesus raise a widow's son from the dead (Luke 7:11-18). Faith is difficult. If I could witness a miracle, I'd have an easier time of it.

Watch Tut's funeral.

Sit in on the recording of Led Zeppelin I.

I would pick something that gave me knowledge I could use to my benefit in the present, or where the knowledge could actually make a difference in the present.

Deuce? That or you have a colossal vagina

LMAO! Don't think he's heard of the number 2... :sneaky:

- Any random day in the Greek or Roman Empires (in Greece or Rome)

- Any random day during Middle Ages (say, 1200) in London

- When the epic space object that wiped out the dinos hit

Ya, basically this type of thing. Just to get a feel of how life was for various peoples at various times.

That's like the movie Time Machine which was my favorite movie when I was young. But The ape-man thing...IDK. It seems we are the only species to evolve to a point where we can do some awesome shit, up to and including destroying ourselves. In the Bible it is said that we were created in his image. We are like Gods and have dominion over all. Will the 6th extinction be not from nature, but from us?

Another neat time to go would be when they went to the moon. Being able to actually watch that broadcast live would be quite surreal.

Incredible, but also incredibly boring. Certainly not in the top 10,000 highlights of my life.

It was pretty cool, but TV wasn't terribly advanced.

I remember going over to my uncles house to watch the landing, he had a state of the art TV at the time.

What would it be?

For me it might be the crucifixion of Jesus or man's first discovery of fire. I wouold love to know where on this rock the exact spot where man first started a fire. That would be interesting. Think about it it. Fire makes the world go round. From power to automobiles to rockets. An amazing discovery.

I so love that movie. At the end where he's at the fork in the road it's like a symbolism of how he is at a crossroads in his life.
I'd go back to the point of your conception and start laughing a few minutes early to annoy your parents.

9/11, from a bit of a distance. I'd call the FBI at 7AM and try telling them that several commercial jets will be hijacked that day, and that two of them will be flown into the World Trade Center towers. I'm fairly certain that it would make absolutely no difference in the events that immediately unfold. Additionally, I'd call a couple of news stations and newspapers, telling them the same thing, and that the FBI had been informed. Should make for a more interesting after-story in the years to come.

You could set the fire alarm off in both buildings 20 minutes before to get more people out and firemen on the scene sooner.

I would think the thing you would want to do is be at the tomb Saturday night through Sunday morning after the Crucifixion . That is the basis of Christianity.

No, the basis of Christianity is the other myths, fairy tales and religions they stole their stories from.

I doubt seeing Christian significant events would change my outlook.
It is highly likely they are all just exaggerations, miscommunications or fiction.

Wouldn't actually seeing them make it quite likely to change your outlook then? Or did you mean you were likely to see a hoax being pulled if you went back?

True, hard to go back in time to an event that hasn't been proven to be real...can't read Peter Pan and go see Nevernever Land..

I think four days of fun and music and nothing but fun and music would be cool. But then I think, "What is everybody there was from the future?" Four hundred thousand people taking selfies with Jimi and Grace. Would the event have happened but for the time travelers expecting it to happen? "JC, trust us, we're from the future, you escape in the final reel."

I would go to the distant year of 2067 when the final canon episode of Naruto Shippuden airs.

Jesus walking on water, Elijah getting taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire while still alive.
