If one of your close friends or family members was murdered, severely injured or raped and you know for sure who did it, would you murder that person if you could get away with it?

I know I'd want to. But I cannot know if I "would."

I guess I'd have to be there.

Damn right I would, but "getting away" with it is never a complete given . . . .

Texas, we kill more criminals every year than any other state! ;)

Trick is to do it immediately after you learn about it, so you can claim temp insanity, or it could just fall under the Texas defense of: "Your Honor, he needed to be killed." That one saves us a lot of money in making the 10 years on death row & the state funded appeals process unnecessary.

To answer the question though, yes.

Yeah. Better yet I would like to be the one to drop the pellets, pull the switch or job the cocksckers vien with a jagged needle if they were convicted and sentenced to death.

Can't really say for sure how I would react with the given situation but right now I don't think I would kill anyone for any reason.

I proably wouldn't kill anyone. I'd beat the holy sh!t out of the person though.

NO, never. Even if I was assured that I'd be let off without any punishment, I would never do that. Even if no one else knew I did it, I'd still know and I couldn't live with myself.

How do some of you feel about the "eye for an eye" penalty.

Should a murderer be allowed to continue living? Or should they be punished in the same way they dealt with their victim?

and you base this on what?

BTW: Let some person rape your wife/daughter or violently murder your wife/parents/kids and see how you feel then.

In polite terms, its 'justifiable homicide'. ;)

I would do it and I don't even need the "if you could get away with it" part. I KNOW I can get away with it. I thought about this once and unless the guy is in prison where I can't get to him, he is going to end up dead under mysterious circumstances....

Tough to know unless you lived through it and I hope I never have to. If the revenge was in cold blood (long after the original murder) I'm not sure I would or could (not that I probably wouldn't want to.) If it was immediately following the original murder (such as someone breaks into your house and kills your wife or child and you catch them in the act) then yes, almost definitely I could see it happening there.

That's a tough one. While I'm all for revenge, I believe in the judicial system more than personal gratification. I would probably hunt him down and beat him within a hair of his life, then call the cops.
