I know Ebay is a buyer-beware sort of business. Understood.

I'm not trying to convince people to go along with this, just whether or not its a good deal. From your reactions, I think my question has been answered.

Having been scammed by LiquidationUniverse, I am not going to buy any laptop from EBAY where the seller does not have it in hand

Notice he says he won't refund your money until the 30th too....

From reading his first page of feedback and the auctions they're for, it doesn't look like he has ever successfully delivered a high dollar machine to people. He may not take your money and run, but I'll bet you're giving him a cheap personal loan for a month and a half.

From what I've learned in corresponding with the seller and meticulously going through her feedback, the downside risk is that I'll get a refund +$25 in about 3 or 4 weeks. Granted, I'm paying with Amex. I'll report back here and let everyone know how it went. Wish me luck!
