I would buy a cheap Pinnacle DV50, and then I would change it.

To a Pinnacle TARGA 3000. Then I'd sell it and spend the money another system.

It would be my 3 year old 17" monitor - starting to look a little fuzzy.

Hmm, all my hardware works rather well. Maybe I should change my 17"/16 viewable monitor to a 21" flat apeture (sp?) grille tube :)
Or better yet, change it to a plasma screen :D

Hmmm, I would say my mobo to a nForce mobo 'cause with the nForce I get DDR (I've got SDRAM), I get 266fsb (I'm on KM133), I get GF2MX video (I'm on VIA ProSavage), and to top it off I get maybe better than Audigy sound (I'm on AC'97 now). :D

I'd change my 1.333 GHz TBird to a 1.67 GHz Palomino. I would have done this sooner but I'm waiting to see how the Thoroughbred/DDR333 situation pans out.

On this rig I'd change the Tbird 900 to a XP 2000+, course that means I'll need a new mobo and some DDR too.

I really need to ditch this POS 15" CRT.

I want an Apple Cinema Display, or if Apple is too evil for this thread then a Dell 2000FP.

Even though I have a gorgeous Sony CPD-E400 monitor, I'd have to say that a 22" wall-mounted plasma display would be nice. I'd also like to upgrade my Boston BA4800s to the BA7800s, but Boston refuses to sell them to anybody besides dying Gateway.

Does this include speakers?

I could damn well deal with a new set of speakers for the machine I'm on, it has a pair of them monitor mounting PACKARD BELL speakers. They sound like cups with strings tied between them for god's sake!

And whats this about solid state drives?? I didn't hear about any solid state drives for sale. Hell, I'll deal with a 60GB 7200RPM maxtor !!

It would not really be a changfe but the only thing i would add is more ram.

DDR is so expensive right now.:(

If i could i would get 512megs DDR, but for now i have to stay with 256megs pc133.:disgust:
