A friend of mine is a cop, and he writes a blog that's very entertaining... you'd be surprised what he sees on a daily basis.
He's thinking about writing a book, but he's curious what would interest people. So, understanding that A) I'm going to get about 99% smarta$$ answers, and B) this might not be his #1 target market, I'm curious to know what you all would want to know from a cop if you could ask any questions you had.
I'll also note that his specialties are recognizing DWIs, and he's also a DRE (Drug Recognition Expert), so there will be a chapter or two on how people are tested for drugs or alcohol, and about the myths associated with the tests (you can't put a penny in your mouth to fool a breathalyzer, and they don't really care if you can say the alphabet backwards).
Ask away!
Some food for thought:
- How much over the speed limit do you let people go?
- What excuses work with you?
- Do you really let crying women go every time?
- Why do you like donuts so much?
- What gives you the right to ticket me when I pay your salary (this is one that makes cops angry)?
