Define technology. Anything that uses electricity? Automobiles? I could easily get by without my computers and electronic gadgets. Although it'd be possible for me to bike to work in the cooler months, biking 15 miles to work in a PHX summer is out of the question. :p

A few years back we went to the gulf coast of Florida to stay for a week in a house that had no computer nor television, and bad cell reception.

I thought it was great. My brother brought his laptop and we ended up paying a huge phone bill for him. He's spoiled.

I had to live without power, flushing toilets (subdivision's septic pumps need power) for 2.5 weeks after katrina. I had to live without internet access and cable TV for over a month. It hurt.

Several Amish families live in my area... they are the closest I've seen to living without technology.
So, with them in mind, I doubt any of you regularly go a weekend without technology.

pre-empted edit:
Some of you go camping... How do you get there? Car? Car then hike?
Unless you walk out your front door and hike to the campsite (or ride a horse), you're using technology.

I'll be spending 8 hours a day for the next week (unless it rains) driving a grain truck that has AM radio only. I'd like to take my CD player, but there'll be an awful lot of dust blowing around. And no internet. :cries;
