Thousands of injured are going to strain the blood supply, so if you are able to please donate blood. I would be down donating right now if they would take mine, but they don't want anyone on anti-coagulation therapy so please, if you can, donate a pint.

I think they'd be lucky to have a pint of ninja in them. I always donate when the blood-mobile comes around. Every 8-10 weeks....or however long you are supposed to wait before you can give gain.

thumbs up for rahvin's pointing this out.

Unfortunately, that's me, too.

So somebody needs to donate twice!

i cannot donate blood. i have tried, many times... but they wont take it.

I lived in England between the years of 1989-1996... they say mad cow disease. I moved back to the USA in 1996 and am really healthy... oh well, if they dont want it, what can I say?

^ Just a bump, if they will take your blood get out there and donate, as others have mentioned they won't take a lot of peoples blood so those of you that meet the requirements need to get out there and do it. I used to be afraid of needles too, anit-coagulation therapy has changed that and I regret now that I can't donate.

let's not forget about the strides made in recent years toward non blood alternatives. let's force our doctors to do research into new and better ways to heal.

we all know what blood transfusions did in the 80's

If you know so much about what blood transfusions did in the 80's, perhaps you should study up on the progress that has taken place since then. Our nation's blood supply is safer than it has ever been.

agreed.... but that has hardly undone the damage. i can only wonder what blood transfusions from the 80's did to AID(s) the spread of diseases..... you know, the ones we blame the gays for.

^ Another bump...

Hopefully the tinfoil hat's who hide their fear of needles by spouting untrue conspiracy theories will stay out. Anyway, if you donate a pint please post!

I've been sick for the past month, so I know they won't take my blood until I've been 100% for a few weeks. But I am going down to donate $100 dollars to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief fund tomorrow.

I will donate as soon as I'm better, though.
