Hopefully you people realize this is a joke. They try to prop it up with the "Psychology Today says...." stuff, but the "riddle" is just a joke some random person made up. If you go to that Yahoo link it leads you to "HelloGiggles" which says they got it from Riddles.com and is not a legitimate "test" question for psychopathy. Although I'd guess the person that made it very well could have been a psychologist as it actually is a decent joke with regards to the reality of that.

There is a neuroscientist that is studying brains that has found a way to figure out if you're a psychopath by studying MRIs or something. He did the test himself and found out he actually is a psychopath. I believe they're also finding out psychopathy is more prevalent than believed.

There's been a bunch of articles on it and their research (and a book and TED talk, etc). From what I remember, they're hoping that catching this can lead to preventing it from turning into violence/crime. They especially are hoping that catching it early where they can possibly prevent the negative environmental aspects during development that seems to lead to the worst of it.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with having an attitude like that. Ranting like that makes you sound like a rapist or Elliot Rodger and I hope you're on anti-psychotics or whatever medicine you need to be on (as diagnosed by a professional), because you're a danger to yourself and other people if not. Not to mention your paranoia. People aren't gangstalking you, they're just noticing that you're acting fucking weird so they give you funny looks and lots of people notice it because you're outwardly acting odd enough to warrant attention. Our brains are hardwired to key in on aberrant behavior.

I think you actually have to have sex to be a slut. But at least you're seeing a therapist. I hope they're qualified to diagnose and prescribe medicine, or you're seeing someone else that is. And hopefully staying on them and getting regular check-ups/therapy and not just when you stop taking your meds and then have major lapse to prevent you from going over the edge and doing something very self destructive or even worse harming others.

What if one of the voices in my head is a sociopath and another is a psychopath and another is a wife-swapping barber in Des Moines? Wouldn't I be able to be both a sociopath and a psychopath depending on which voice was in charge at any given moment?

From what I've gathered, modern psychology is moving towards not actually supporting that sociopath is a distinct thing, that its all just psychopathy. There's some debate (some basically say psychopath is genetic and inherent, while sociopathy is product of environment), but seems that they're moving towards just a blanket term of psychopathy. I think actual psychologists don't even really define either (but if they do use a term it'd be more likely psychopathy), just an anti-social disorder. And there's a spectrum of other disorders that can often apply (hence why there's an in depth psychological test to discern what actually applies).

i'm pretty sure the mental condition of being a sociopath overrides the condition of not noticing your brain patterns changing. IANAD and have not researched this, and also i was implying "for practical purposes", because humans are weird and anything is possible.

yes and no. sociopath was something that people didn't even say 20 years ago (and by 20 years, i mean 1970), and yet today more and more people are finding themselves fitting rather accurately the description of a sociopath. Reasonably reputable science groups are trying to figure out exactly what sociopaths are, because right now that's not even clear. We still come from the tradition of arresting the bad guy who killed someone, and then a doctor with moustache and glasses yells WAIT... HE'S MAD ! rather than trying to understand that people can in fact have different minds. And if you are *that* kind of mind, you reeeeally dont fit well with other people. This doesn't mean that you go around murdering people. or even that you WANT to murdering other people. You might be either sane, or mad, socipoath or no, and still not like murdering other people.
Thats where the latest interest for sociopaths comes from .. they ain't mad, but they are evidence that doctors everywhere don't understand the first bit about the human psyche.

Sociopath is definitely different, and the majority of posters in certain AT forums exhibit extreme symptoms. Ironically they self-perpetuate it by wasting away so much of their free time instead of normal social activities. Regardless it's their time to spend however they want.

EDIT: Wow, that's longer ago than I thought. I'm surprised they made it to season 13.

eeh, not. our concept of social activity is different than yours; and i don't mean "we think being lazy in front of the PC is a social activity", it's simply that when we go to the mall, we find your behaviour ghastly.

i suspect if you got a whole bunch of sociopaths together, they would probably start acting like "normal" people, chatting and being all social n stuff.

What kind of podunk town do you live in that "people" could spread rumors to all of the women you might want to bang? I live in a medium sized city, on the smaller side of medium too, and there is no way in hell you could spread a rumor like that to even a small fraction of the "bitches".
