"The 193-acre farm where Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones filmed 1989's "Field Of Dreams" has been listed for sale by its owners after over a century of family ownership and the Des Moines Register reports that the asking price for the whole lot is $5.4 million."

"Additional features include a vague yet suggestive voice in the sky, members of the 1919 Black Sox periodically showing up for a night game and the opportunity to play catch with your father's ghost. "

I wonder...can/will they promise those amenities in the deed?

Complete waste of money for a lot that small and tiny house, but the iconic value of it is pretty cool.

"Where do you live?"

This is the first time I've ever really wanted a $5 million property.

Just found this out. The movie is on so during the commercial, I decided to read about the players and the site it was filmed on.

I would buy it if I won powerball. And try to get retired pro and semi pro players to play. maybe even make ir pro-am. Worse comes to worse, I'd see if the gov't would take it over as a national landmark. I hate to admit it, but baseball is part of the American heritage. I care less for the game but that's my honest opinion.

FWIW: Field of dreams is probably one of the best sports movies ever if not the best. The best thing though, the movie explains the characters and does not assume people know about he Black Sox scandal, etc.

Major drawback is that it's Iowa. You'll have to sell a shitload of t-shirts to recoup that money.
