This is a 65-pin ULTRA WIDE SCSI drive.

ASA-2 means that the drive uses a SCA connector and thus must be only used in hot-swap applications. You need a special enclosure to use these drives and typically you use them with RAID as well.

How hard would it be to set this up as a RAID?

Anyone here comtemplating this or is SCSI+RAID just too tough to even think about?

somehow that doesnt seem to make sense. @ 23GB, that comes out to be less than $5181.44 which technically is true...

@ the original $24.95 price, it comes out to be $1.08/GB

Dude... bump for a great drive. I intentionally installed a 5.25" full height Seagate SCSI Ultra-Wide hard drive in the office, these things are built like tanks. Plus the warranties run around 5 years, if not even longer. It also deters theft

Looks like you need a nap kenny, Google has spoken. 46dB is about the sound of a car idling. Sounds about right [heheh]

However that's only 0.308 dB/ cu in. Current seagate hard drives run around 0.93 dB/ cu in.

Well .13/GB IS less than .22/MB.

How hard is it to put them in a RAID array? Pretty easy if you have a SCSI RAID card (peers at an Adapted 131U2 in a 450P2 system that's not being used)

Folks, I have an HP 2gb drive that takes up 2 drive bays. if this thing is anywhere near as big, you are going to need a ton of room behind the drive bay, as well. It hardly made it in my AT case - it almost hit the powersupply.
