It's not your money, it's my money. Your taxes were probably not even enough to pay for your child's education cost.

education has the most f-ed up tax method on the planet

The point is you aren't paying enough taxes to cover the government services you use, so don't pontificate about taxes until you pay your share and stop leeching off mine.

ummm... i don't see how that have anything to do with what i said, or even the point of this thread. but thanks for playing

Explain to me the point of your thread? Do you want Buffett to pay higher taxes even though he would still get stuck with the high deficits that result from your lower taxes?

ANYWAY... the real point of the thread is, is it possible to pay more in taxes if one wanted to?

If there isn't a form to do just that - then we need to create one. Form for sending money for the national debt and one for "general tax revenue". :)

CkG

nah, that wouldn't do anything, the gov't would just borrow more money and, oops, that money you just earmarked for the debt went into the general revenue pile.

Probably right. Worth a shot though. I hear alot of peole claiming that we should all be paying more because of yadda yadda yadda, but yet they don't seem to want to give up their tax-cuts;)

CkG

Who said they wouldn't give up their $6 bucks? Only you apparently because for you obviously a lot more than $6

Heck, my (extremely low) tax bracket didn't see a change at all, so my taxes weren't much different this year than last. Of course, I DID benefit from the increased child tax credit, and why not? Hilary said it takes a village, so the village damn well better give me some more of my own money back! :D

Hey Tool, my kids haven't spent a day in public schools, so bite me. Maybe you should stick to subjects of which you actually know something!

Well, paying higher taxes individually is not going to spare Buffet from paying the interest on the debt accrued by low taxes overall, so he will be double paying.
At least if he buys a govt bond with that money, Bush'll still use it to pay for the govt, but at least Buffet will get a ROI.

The Oracle of Omaha is a bona fide stud but isn't it just a little strange that one man's empire pays 2.5% of ALL US corporate income tax?
