Even if I did some minor damage to the other dar, I would still just leave. People are @ssholes these days and you try to do a good deed by telling them and you just get screwed over by them then claming all kinds of damage was from you.

But I'm just talking about if my door bumps the car or something. Not if I run into them and dent the whole car up...

How that different from stealing a dollar and a hundred dollar. Just because the amount is small, it's not stealing?

The best way to deal with parking lot accidents is take pictures and leave a note telling the owner that you have pictures so as to give them a heads up on not fvcking w/ you.

I have a good story for you guys. A good buddy of mine had this happen to him. He accidently let go of his clutch because of slippery dress shoes and accidently tapped the rear bumper of another car. There was no damage to the other car but he left his number and a short msg just in case. To make a long story short...the owner thought this was a nice gesture and called to say thanks One thing led to another and 3 years later they got engaged and married.

That sucks. He should've just left.

If there was absolutely no damage AND noone saw me do it then leaving a note would be a waste of my time and the other car owner's time. Just driving off saves me from getting screwed and it saves the other guy from having to inspect his car and wonder if each tiny little microscopic scratch was there before he left it.

If you're not sure if someone else saw you or not take a few pictures and then leave. That way if someone else tell the guy that you hit his he won't be able to screw you and there's still the off chance that he'll never know about it.

If there WAS noticable damage then I would certainly leave my contact information or I might even try to find the owner right then if I'm not pressed for time and finding them is possible.

No harm, no foul. What they dont know, doesnt hurt me. Ive done this more than once, but with no damage, there was no reason to say anything.

I once hit a car in a parking lot. It was down in college, I knew the person who owned the vehicle. I told him exactly what happened later that day when I first saw him. He told me he didn't care and we left it at that.

Two months later, his parents find out about it, get pissed off at him, then he lies to his parents about the details, and they file a $1200 insurance claim against me. So great, that really pissed me off. And I know his parents were pissed off at him because it was a new car - that was becuase about a month earlier before I hit it, he was t-boned in his old car at an intersection, and he was so angry he never called the police for whatever reason, his car was basically totalled and the other driver gave him all fake information.

So for being the good person, I received the wrath of both accidents...
