I have the Msi 845 Ultra ARU, 1.6A, 1 stick Crucial 512DDR2100 @1.87BHz. What settings are used to get 2.1GHz? Do you have to go higher than 1.65v cpu core voltage? I'm using 1.65v with cpu @13-15C and Chassis @ 31C. Using Windows 2000 Pro and very stable. Thank you for any info, Pat.

First of all you should update the bios to ver 3.2
your mobo misread the temp now.
and you should be able to get to around 140 FSB with 1.65v vcore
that makes you run on 2.24Ghz.

good luck

I have the same og=f your config only different is I used Samsung 512MB PC2700. I just keep everything as stock spec, I 've just raised the FSB to 138 to obtain 2208Mhz. I got 30C chasis and high 30 (38,39C) CPU temp. I intend to change my HSF to lower my temp though.

Thanks guys, I'll run Msi Live update. Also I'm going to remove some cards and try using a different video card. It's reassuring to know the msi board can do 2+GHz. 🙂

i wouldnt remove any cards. Running at 133 is the easiest oc on ive seen. except for the celeron300a's we used to all love.

I have had mine up to 166fsb with a pci video card, but my g4 4600 doenst like it that high. Hopefully i can get those issues resolved and keep er up like that!! hhe

I'll bet my AGP Matrox G450 is holding me back. I'm going to update the bios first, though. Thanks, Pat.

Before yoiu go off into the sunset a happy camper test it with Prime 95. I was able to get 2.4 but when I ran Prime 95 it would fail after a couple of hours. I ignored it and went ahead with it clocked at 2.4 (with my voltage at 1.65). After a day or so I stated getting corrupted files. Nothing bad and I clcoked it down to 2.14 ghz (133 fsb) and it seems to be steady there.

Hopefully your CPU is more OC'able than mine but you should check it out just to make sure.

What was the PCI bus at? Is the MSI 845 able to lock the speeds? Curious if it was the CPU being too high or were the hard drives not able to handle the PCI speed. Reading my BIOS manual now for the MSI before I stick it together 😉
