ask for a letter of termination? I mean rightfully ask for one?...or can they deny u one?
Its good to have one for unemplyment purposes..

coz i know of this company that fires people then later insists they quit by
themselves so that the poor ex-employees can't get unemployment...etc. :(

I asked for a letter of termination before, without it I don't think you can draw unemployment.

If you think you are going to get fired, why not draft such a letter up? Leave the date field blank and the manager's signature field blank, then file it in your drawer until needed. If such a company is using tactics as you've described, they should be reported to the employment bureau for your state. However, keep in mind that even if they provided you with a termination letter, they could still contest the unemployment claim that you'll make when you file for unemployment benefits. With that "iffy" company, I wouldn't count on any unemployment compensation until you've received and cashed the first check. :(

I always ask for a letter of termination, just something that I use when I'm asked by those who want to make sure I'm still on the straight and narrow...
