Duck is much tastier, anyhoo, as are guineafowl, and are more interesting variations from chicken during the year. They are a more modest size, also.
Thats the point of thanksgiving in the US. Get together with a bunch of family and give thanks for what you have. We had 15 people over and the 18lb bird was just the right size. Only took 3 hours to prep and cook. We didn't need one bird per person but you can be sure we all brushed our teeth that night something you might want to think about.
