Obama's Peace Prize Award was, IMO, for his successfully steering the world's most powerful military nation, in his campaign, away from the neocon changes under Bush.
Obama had a lot to say to repudiate the right-wing, aggressive war approving people who had beenin power and to help the more peaceful, global approach beat it.
Going by what he said, at least.
It was controversially an award based more on speech than action, and I think it had a lot to do with wanting to encourage the change away from Bush.
But that's part of what it's for, to promote peace. Whether Obama has done as he said...
One thing we can say is that he has not been launching new aggressive ground invasions.
