but you wouldnt get the discount untill you orered the 27th right?
No, the GT got preordered out at its regular $400 price, which is not surprising with all the price gouging around.

My guess, honestly, is that this is a mistake and 6800 cards are supposed to be excluded. They did that with the x800 deal a while back.

Its supposed to be part of their weekly specials. Also, it won't go into effect until tomorrow the 27th, so it won't be showing up or anything yet.

Gotcha. But that just raises the question: How did this guy find out about something no one knows about? Just the way things work, is it?

Is PNY 6800GT a dual-dvi card or not??? On the PNY site the picture shows dual-dvi, but on the specs it states DVI and VGA... Hell of a deal either way, but I'm looking for a dual-dvi :)

Since we're on the topic of good deals...
Could be a good deal if it's not a regular 6800.

Hmmm link's not working. Well here are the specs:

GEFORCE 6800/DVI/TV-256MB DDR / AGP 8X
$335

PNY has been making the Quadro cards for a while, and we've used a few of them at work for CAD stuff, and they seem to be fine (much better than the Elsa Gloria II quadro cards we had).

I'm guessing that if PNY makes quadro cards, they much have decent quality, since that is a high priority for the pro stuff. Hopefully that would carry over to their consumer level cards.

I guess that's no definitive answer, but it is at least one data point.

Later,
D'oh!

$350 for a 6800U or $280 should make up anyone's mind on this issue. They'll probably have ATI employees calling from Canada asking if they'll ship at those prices!

<shakes head in awe>

These prices are $80 below the lowest I've seen a X800 or X800XT, ever.

The sure fire way to get a 6800 into my box is if someone buys it for me.

The link not working diminishes the value of your deal considerably!

Some people at nvnews.com are having a bit of trouble with their PNY 6800 Ultras. I've never had a PNY card before, so I don't know if they are good or not, but I figured I'd share this.

Its probably all PNY cards currently available? not the ones not in stock but soon to be? If you actually look, all the 6800s say either "Coming Soon" or "Sold Out!" (due to presales)

Coming Soon
This product is not currently in stock at any of our warehouse locations. The product is due to arrive from our supplier on the expected ship date. We will update you on the status of your order via email.

Nice deal. PNY is a very good company. Had a geforce 2 from them back in 2000, is running solid as a rock still to this day.

Where did you get this coupon, and is it needed for the purchase?

I called, and they told me there is a small clause saying the 6800U is no included in the deal.
